Slavic Voices is a loose collection of musicians and music lovers connected by the fascinating songs, culture, music, and literature of eastern and central Europe. Art song is a blend of music, culture, and poetry which can give us profound insights into the differences between this language and that, this culture and that. Our goal is to make a welcoming space for exploration of these cultures: their music, their history, and their languages. In the end it all comes down to people. People learning, meeting new friends, making a space for a community rooted in music, communication, and understanding. We put on concerts of Art Song in the various languages of eastern and Central Europe, we gather for salon evenings to try out new repertoire and get feedback, and we welcome visitors. 

Slavicvoices.org is the web home of the performing group Slavic voices, as well as the community of singers, scholars, and enthusiasts that is Slavic Voices at Big Blue. People, learning, community, love of music. Plus, maybe a little bit of beer and borscht.
